CHARITY PRESENTATION TO CHEST - HEART - STROKE  SCOTLAND

This morning, Saturday 2nd July, 2022 I was privileged and honoured, along with Companion Alan B Reid PM Lodge Carron 139 and RWM Brother Des McGowan of Lodge Bothwell Brig No.1229 (Lanarkshire Middle Ward) to have been invited by our dear friend and Companion Gordon (Charlie) MacVicar to accompany him to the Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland Charity Shop Grangemouth. Charlie along with his serving and veteran service members recently held a very successful Golf Memorial Day in memory of one of their sadly departed “Band of Brothers” Captain Stewart Snedden, along with magnificent funds raised on the day a very generous personal donation from RWM Brother Des McGowan and a very well received donation from the Companions of our own Chapter, Companion Charlie was delighted to present Stephanie Wilks from Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland with a cheque for £600 Stephanie was absolutely overwhelmed with this generosity and asked everyone present to pass on the sincerest thanks from all her colleagues and that this donation would help greatly and be put to very good use. Another magnificent effort made by Companion Charlie whose fundraising, both on a personal (as was this occasion) and his previous Masonic basis must be commended. It was great to then pop along to a local café where we all enjoyed tea and coffee and a right guid blether. Well done to all involved. A great effort.              Tam Meikle PZ Carron RAC No. 478....Photos by kind permission

                                                                           Photos & Reports

On Thursday afternoon 12th November 2020 and with the permission of our MEZ Paul Garrett, and contributions from Paul, PZ David Duncan and PZ Tam Meikle , Tam was delighted and privileged to handover a small, yet extremely well received donation on behalf of Carron Royal Arch Chapter 478 to The Thistle Wing and Annexe based at Kinnaird Primary School and the old Carrongrange School next to Larbert High School. This consisted of 60 Cadbury Xmas advent calendars which will be handed out to the children on 1st December which we hope will bring a wee smile to their faces as they enjoy the sweets. PZ Meikle had the pleasure of meeting Jayne Grant from The Thistle Wing who was very gracious in her thanks to all. Unfortunately due to these unfortunate times, they were unable to take any photos which I am sure we can all understand the safety reasons why. Jayne however, hopes to forward on some pictures of the children opening and eating their advent calendars in December and these will be posted with any updates at that time. A very positive day during these strange times we are all experiencing and again a great example of one of the Chapter's biggest tenets “Charity”. Photos by kind permission
